About the Position

We are looking for a sharp, client-facing Senior Digital Marketing Strategist to join our team in New York and lead the development of smart, insight-driven marketing strategies from pitch to execution. You will play a critical role in shaping engagements from the start - working closely with client leads and discipline partners to define scope, shape solutions, and lead core strategic workstreams that move the needle. The Strategy & Insights team sits at the intersection of marketing, data, and creativity. As a Senior Strategist, you will help set the foundation for innovative digital programs by combining data-driven insight, business acumen, and creative thinking. You should be comfortable guiding clients, crafting compelling proposals, and seeing strategies through execution. If you're an experienced strategist with consulting or agency chops who thrives on solving client challenges and shaping strategic engagements - this role is for you.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagements from opportunity framing to execution—defining scope, identifying business problems, and shaping actionable marketing strategies.
  • Develop digital marketing strategies across channels that drive audience engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Collaborate with client partners and project leads to define strategic approach, solution design, and resourcing as part of proposals and new business efforts.
  • Translate data and research (quantitative and qualitative) into meaningful insights and marketing strategies that align with business goals.
  • Drive the core strategic workstreams within client engagements—leading development of audience strategies, journey maps, content strategy, messaging frameworks, and measurement plans.
  • Partner with cross-disciplinary teams (creative, media, analytics, content, tech) to ensure alignment and consistency across touchpoints.
  • Act as a client-facing lead and trusted advisor—able to facilitate workshops, present strategies with confidence, and build long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor junior strategists, contribute to team-wide best practices, and champion high-quality strategy work across the organization.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in marketing strategy, digital strategy, or performance marketing roles within a marketing agency, consultancy, or digital services firm.
  • Proven experience scoping projects, creating proposals, and designing strategic solutions in response to client needs.
  • Strong background in digital marketing strategy, including experience with performance metrics, SEO/SEM, content strategy, campaign planning, and CRM.
  • Proven experience in creating marketing frameworks (e.g., journey mapping) and driving strategies for demand generation and content.
  • A working knowledge of AI and LLMs, including emerging concepts like content atomization and the ability to define use cases for agentic solutions in digital marketing is a strong plus.
  • Experience owning and leading strategic workstreams within cross-functional client engagements.
  • Proficient in digital tools such as Google Analytics, GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, SimilarWeb, HubSpot, etc.
  • Confident communicator and presenter with experience engaging VP- and C-level clients.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, aligning stakeholders, and delivering strategies that are both visionary and actionable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, often ambiguous client environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field; Master’s degree a plus.

The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is  $100,000 - $150,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
