Lead DevOps Engineer

At Globant, we are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a global technology team and drive the design, automation, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud platforms.

This role is ideal for a senior technical leader who combines strong hands-on DevOps expertise with experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Architecture, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and SRE practices. You will help shape technical strategy, lead engineering initiatives, mentor teams, and explore emerging technologies such as Generative AI.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms.
• Define and promote best practices across DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, and infrastructure automation.
• Architect and manage cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Drive the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Work with technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless platforms.
• Support platform reliability through monitoring, incident management, performance optimization, and SRE practices.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance across cloud and engineering environments.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions and technical roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional initiatives.
• Explore and integrate Generative AI capabilities to improve engineering automation and software delivery.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, or Platform Engineering.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• 2+ years of exposure to AI and Generative AI technologies.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and infrastructure.
• Advanced scripting skills with Bash and/or Python.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including module development and maintenance.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and services across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience with SRE practices, monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET or Java development environments.
• Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications such as AWS, Azure, or DevOps certifications.
• Experience implementing AI-driven automation within engineering or DevOps workflows.
