SAP Business Analyst

Salary:  $90,000 - $105,000

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented SAP Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Applications practice, supporting SAP implementation, optimization, and support engagements for our client portfolio. This role bridges business process expertise with SAP functional configuration — you'll gather requirements, design solutions within SAP modules, and guide clients through successful adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with client stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements across functional areas
  • Translate business processes into SAP functional specifications, process flows, and configuration designs
  • Configure and support SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, or S/4HANA equivalents) to meet business requirements
  • Conduct fit-gap analyses between current business processes and standard SAP functionality
  • Facilitate workshops with business users to map current-state ("as-is") and future-state ("to-be") processes
  • Develop functional specifications for custom developments, interfaces, and reports; partner with technical teams on delivery
  • Support end-to-end testing efforts, including test plan development, test case creation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues through resolution
  • Develop training materials and job aids; deliver end-user training and support go-live activities
  • Provide post-go-live support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations
  • Support data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, and cleansing
  • Contribute to project documentation, including business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specs, and process maps
  • Assist with change management activities to support user adoption across client organizations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting SAP implementations, upgrades, or support projects
  • Functional knowledge of at least one core SAP module (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, WM, or similar); S/4HANA experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with the full project lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, configuration support, testing, and deployment
  • Strong understanding of core business processes (e.g., procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, plan-to-produce)
  • Experience facilitating workshops and eliciting requirements from business stakeholders
  • Proficiency in developing BRDs, functional specifications, process flow diagrams, and test scripts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel; experience with tools like Visio, JIRA, or similar for documentation and tracking
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP certification in relevant functional module(s)
  • Experience with S/4HANA implementations or migrations from SAP ECC
  • Exposure to multiple industries (manufacturing, retail, financial services, life sciences, etc.)
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology or other structured implementation frameworks
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Analytics Cloud, or integration tools (SAP PI/PO, CPI)
  • Experience with data migration tools (e.g., LSM Workshop, BODS, Syniti)
  • Agile/Scrum experience in a hybrid waterfall-agile delivery environment
  • Background supporting global or multi-entity client organizations
