Java Developer (Search Engineer)

At Globant, we're looking for a Senior Search Engineer to join a global engineering team building next-generation search solutions powered by modern Search and AI technologies.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize enterprise search solutions using Java and Python.
• Improve search relevance, indexing, query processing, ranking, performance, and scalability.
• Build intelligent search capabilities leveraging RAG, Vector Search, Embeddings, Prompt Engineering, and Agentic AI workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to modern service-oriented architectures, cloud-native applications, and continuous platform improvements.
• Research and evaluate emerging Search and AI technologies to drive innovation.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience developing software with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong knowledge of search technologies such as Apache Solr, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Lucene, or similar platforms.
• Experience implementing AI-powered search solutions, including:
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Vector Search
  • Embedding models
  • Prompt Engineering
  • Agentic Workflows
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Experience with AWS, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across both technical and business teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing production-grade search platforms.
• Knowledge of SaaS architectures and cloud-native applications.
• Passion for Search, AI, and continuous learning.
